REPORT: Americans Would Rather Pay a Mortgage Than Rent (and Owning Makes Them Happier)

A recent study conducted by Bank of America titled “2019 Fall Homebuyer Insights Report” found out that most Americans are happier after buying a home and would rather pay a mortgage than wasting money in rent:

• 93% of home buyers said owning a home makes them happier than renting did
• 79% said becoming a home owner made them a better person
• 89% of respondents said owning a home is a way to build lifelong memories with loved ones
• 76% of homeowners pursued new hobbies after buying a home
